PITCH IMPROV TO YOUR TEAM
Want to pitch the idea of bringing improv into the workplace but don’t know how? Afraid your team will hear the word improvisation and head for the hills? You aren’t wrong. The word improv strikes fear into the hearts of many. They think they will be put on the spot and expected to be fast and funny.
Immediate thoughts of the quick-witted minds of the cast of Whose Line Is It Anyway? come to mind. This type of short-form funny improv is only one small piece of the improv pie. For those that are apprehensive about doing improv, there is no need to fear. The work we’ll be relies more on underlying improv skills of paying attention, noticing more, and listening. You won’t be put on the spot or under any pressure to be funny, witty, clever, or creative. Just show up with a willingness to engage with your teammates!
We do something called “Applied Improv,” which means bringing improvisation tools and applying them to real-life and work scenarios. We improvise every day of our lives, so however old you are is how much improv experience you have.
Improv training teaches connection, collaboration, communication, flexibility, mental agility, and listening. Improvisers are trained to work with what is happening vs. what they wish was happening. This ability to accept reality allows you to use reality as fuel for innovation.
In our workshops you will:
Connect with your colleagues in new ways
Shake up your expectations for virtual interactions
